What is the 4 Year Experience?

Hear Chuck Dunning, TCU Transitions Director, discuss the Four Year Experience.

On average, the lifespan of a Texas Horned Frog is approximately five years in the wild.  At TCU, your  four years on campus as a Horned Frog is anything but average!

There are staff members and teams of faculty and staff in place to help you through each of your four years.  It’s like you have your own team of people cheering you on every step of the way.

In your First Year, there will be plenty of opportunities to get to know your classmates as well as the TCU Campus.  Academic Orientation and Frog Camp are two programs that get you acquainted with your peers as well as faculty, staff, and upperclassmen all before you begin your first class!  Once you begin classes, Connections will give you the opportunity to talk about your first semester’s happenings with other first year students.  The fun continues with programs and events, such as the First Year Frog Football Frenzy, Dinner with Vice Chancellor Don Mills, and a night at a sporting event just for your class.

In your Second Year, we focus on what it means to be an ethical leader.  Through programs like Inward Bound, you and your classmates will contemplate these big thoughts while finding your own personal meaning.  Don’t worry, your sophomore year is not only about deep thoughts, there are plenty of opportunities to have fun, like at Sophomore Splash and the Second Year Frog Football Frenzy.  Your second year is not second rate!

The Third Year is all about responsible citizenship.  Your big class project is FrogHouse, a Habitat for Humanity home that is complete funded and built by TCU students, staff, faculty, alumni, and parents.  As juniors, you are the leaders for making this impact in our Fort Worth community.  Other fun events include iJunior and Junior JumpStart.

We’ve saved the best for last during your Senior Year.  The global community and the impact you are going to make are the main points of focus for this year.  Through events like Senior Fair, Senior Toast, and the Senior Conference, you will be prepared to enter the world and stay ahead of the curve!

Did we also mention that you will get a free class t-shirt as another way to show your Horned Frog pride and spirit?  Your four years at TCU are an extraordinary adventure that will only strengthen your love for all things purple.
